Welcome to the Inns of Costa Rica routes and itineraries tool. This tool allows you to easily plan your trip through Costa Rica, viewing
directions and driving times, nearby hotels with associated availability and rates, previous client feedback, and more.
You have the option of creating (and saving) your own routes, or using one of the existing routes provided by Inns of Costa Rica and our
clients. For every 4th night reserved using the routes tool, you will receive a 10% discount.
This tool uses Microsoft Silverlight, a browser plug-in compatible with Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. If you are using a different browser,
your results may vary. If you do not have Silverlight installed, you will be prompted to do so before launching the itinerary tool.
Example Routes:
Most international flights arrive and leave from San Jose International airport, sometimes called the Juan Santamaria Airport, which is located just outside the main town of San Jose and is a twenty minute drive from most hotels in the San Jose area. Most domestic flights also leave from this airport. In San Jose, plan on visiting museums, markets or choose organized trips to local botanical gardens, coffee farms and rafting expeditions. For excellent surfing, the Playas Tamarindo and Grande are highly recommended and Tamarindo itself is a lively place. You might wish to take a boat ride or a four wheel drive excursion to the north to Santa Rosa Park – home of the Portrero Grande and Witch’s Rock Break off Playa Naranjo. There are some quiet beaches in the south too – Langosta, Avellanas and Negra. The cloud forests of Monteverde or Santa Elena are iconic Costa Rican destinations and shouldn’t be missed. |
Leaving Juan Santamaria Airport keep to the left and you will arrive at the kilometer-long point at Pavones. There are some amazing waves along this Central Pacific Coast interspersed with jungle hiking, waterfalls and spectacular nature. |
