Part of the Small Distinctive Hotels group, the Capitan Suizo is a classic tropical beachfront luxury hotel that follows a well-tested format. The difference here is size – there are only 30 rooms and yet it feels much larger. The service is excellent and the hotel, while retaining a hint of formality remains delightfully casual. Wander on pathways that wind through gardens bright with flowers from your air-conditioned room to poolside and on through the palm grove to the beach. Everyone here is at play or just relaxing, so there’s no need for your very best behavior – it’s a very friendly atmosphere. The complimentary breakfast is as delicious as it is extensive - buffet style and offering fresh tropical fruits, meats, cheeses, and excellent bread baked right on the premises early that morning. Although the dining is first-rate at the hotel’s dining room or Saturday barbeques, you also have the option to make the short walk to the village where you will find a large variety of restaurants and bars. Capitan Suizo is Swiss-owned and that European style is evident throughout the hotel. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with high ceilings, huge tiled showers, and pleasing décor that fits well with the gracious and attentive service you will receive here.

Notes Beachfront at Tamarindo is a most desirable location, close to excellent surfing, deep-sea fishing, and inland forest exploration. The Guanacaste coast enjoys some of the finest and driest weather in the country, so your vacation will not be ruined by being 'too green'. There are many restaurants in the village located midway down this beautiful long, wide and sandy beach.
