A 10% non-refundable deposit will be taken by Inns en Route at the time of confirming your reservation. Balance of reservation must be paid one month before arrival with a credit card, certified check or a bank transfer. All reservations must be secured with a valid signed Makanda credit card authorization form within 7 days of confirmation, or within 3 days when the guests arrival falls within 30 days. Personal checks are accepted, but must be cleared before the payment date listed on your reservation confirmation. Please allow twelve days extra for the checks to clear. For reservations paid with a credit card, we prefer Visa. Mastercard, and American Express cards may be subject to an additional charge of 2% if our monthly limit has been exceeded. (Inns of Costa Rica are unable to assist with bookings for Peak Season Dec 20 to Jan 10.) Exclusive, first class, elegant - all the superlatives come to mind when we think of Makanda by the sea. It is very private, with most of the villas out of sight of each other, but each have commanding sea views. It is a bit of a walk through manicured gardens from the dining or pool area to your villa but once there you find you are sharing your special world with the many forest creatures that live there too. You will be awakened by bird song in the morning, and when you are ready, breakfast is served to you in your studio or villa. You have use of your full kitchen facilities should you wish to prepare a snack or meal yourself. Laze away the hours in your hammock or deck chair and await the daily migration of monkeys through the forest on either side. The beauty of the forest is rivaled by the elegant decor of your villa, while the sea far below beckons you to adventure on or under its surface. You will find dining at poolside a most pleasurable experience - fine food served with ultimate grace. The food preparation facilities lie out of sight below and do not detract from the ocean view framed by fronds. There is also ample diversion just up the road where many restaurants and bars compete to add the most colour to the Manuel Antonio scene.

Notes Manuel Antonio draws visitors from around the world to visit the famed National Park at the end of the peninsula, where you will see the fruits of decades of thoughtful conservation by the Costa Rican government. The nearby beach is perfect, with just enough people to be interesting without being too crowded. It is fringed with a few small cheerful restaurants under the shade of the almond trees. With the dense foliage edging the powdery beach and many fine restaurants nearby, Manuel Antonio is surely one of the most pleasant areas in the country.

Cancellation Policy:
A 10% non-refundable deposit will be taken by Inns en Route upon confirming your reservation. For cancelling 16-30 days prior to the guest’s arrival, a charge of 50% will be made. Should the reservation be cancelled within 15 days of the guest’s arrival, or in case of a no show, there will be no refund unless we are able to resell the nights. To avoid cancellation charges, Makanda will make every effort possible to fill the reserved units and apply a refund. However, should the units remain unoccupied, cancellation charges are applicable. During peak season dates (Dec. 20-Jan. 10), all reservations must be paid in full 60 days prior to arrival. Any cancellations received within the 60 day prepayment period will be subject to refunds only in the case where we are able to resell the nights.
